  1. >Patrick O’Donovan said the confidence vote is a “cynical stunt” by Sinn Féin to get attention at the end of a Dáil term.

    He’s absolutely right here.

    >He added that Sinn Féin has switched from calling for an emergency budget to calling for a general election in the space of a week.

    This is also true.

I’m not sure that as many of the independents will side with SF as they think.

    Be interesting to see though.

  2. This is populist, Trumpian rhetoric; the culmination of years of Fine Gael attacks and conspiracy theories. You’d laugh at conservative americans using this kind of language but now it’s completely normal here.

There’s one lad on here, caislachach something, who thinks Leninists run RTÉ and other FF and FG supporters talking about paid Sinn Fein shills. It’s scary how low our discourse has fallen.

  3. Government with a plan. It’s only taken 100 years to put together ffs. They have nothing to offer. Their only policy seems to be to attack the shinners

  4. Leftist…feels like trump!
I didn’t know the government had a plan here, outside of taking bad decisions after bad decisions, or just doing NOTHING!
It’s time for accountability for those politicians

  5. Doubling down on this overtly dirty politics give me the impression that they don’t actually want to stay in government do they?

They want to get their pensions and let SF deal with the skeleton of a government they have left in their wake.
