Great news for them. Always nice to hear about a win for your fellow citizens
Damn you trade unions, for helping the people who need you most!!!?
Congratulations to them all! Sounds like a decent increase – but that suggests they were being underpaid before…
Wow! Kraft Foods, an American company, succumbing to employees’ demands? I wonder what they have in store for their future.
Those Kraft-y bastards will probably replace the cocoa content with sawdust, or the glass and a half of milk will go down to 33% ‘malk’ to make up the difference.
And all because the lady loves milk tray
Unions work folks.
17% over two years so a restorative, inflation-matching 9-10% this year followed by another smaller rise next year. Unless the inflation rate falls sharply they’re basically standing still.
pre-tax £32m profit in 2019 so they’re not short of cash.
Come on lads, call em greedy. you know you want to.
Anyone else wonder if these strikes are finally becoming effective now because of Brexit? It caused a labour shortage and now they can’t hire from the EU the workers finally have some bargaining power.
Glad to hear
Congrats to the workers and to Unite
Factory workers are like gold dust at the moment. No way kraft would have caved in to this otherwise. Where I work they have resorted to regular £30 ASDA voucher bonuses and setting up shifts with good hours for 6th formers and uni students.
Do they get paid in chocolate?
Cadbury has fallen
There’s power in a union.
In tomorrow’s news: Cadbury announces closure of all UK manufacturing with production being moved to ***insert country with cheaper labour***
Well fudge me, 17.5 pay rise, mind you I did hear a wispa that they were negotiating it. Good for them.
One: yay
Two: why is the picture of the old cadburys bar? Not seen a flat top bar since the takeover and subsequent fall in quality. Been all rounder tops since then.
Maybe us northerners don’t get flat tops I don’t know.
great news, I’m very pleased for them and love Cadbury World in Brum
now if they could just improve the chocolate quality that would be great
Bloody commie unions, how dare they get more money for their members.
— Tory MPs. Probably.
Wow that’s great
The company I work for cut our benefits so our millionaire owner didn’t feel the pinch as much.
I mean, poor bastard has 5 houses to pay for, most of us are only renting the one. Must be hard for him.
Now selling mocklate
Wish my trade union was half as good, but working in the NHS I feel we’re fighting a losing battle
Great to see, this is what can be won.
Im confused as to why this is being reported as a 17.5% pay rise unless its to do with the increased holiday pay, which confuses me even more.
Year 1 is a 6.5% pay rise.
Year 2 is a 5.5% pay rise.
Average holiday pay increased from 20 to 25 days.
Its still a great pay rise for them, im just confused why its being reported the way it is.
Also, great work from both the workers and the union and well done kraft (as much as i hate you for ruining cadbury), credit where its due.
Good news for the Cadbury folk. Nice to see a company put its hand in its pocket and value its workers. I’ll buy a whole nut now and again and forgo other choclity brands in the future.
Time to make proper Cadbury again
better chocolate than never
Jeez! That’s fantastic for them! I wish my union would actually do something my trade too.
Cream eggs about to get smaller again.
It’s ‘bounty’ be true!!
That lion dressed as a rabbit finna be ballin
Half expecting Freddy to be 50p now.
Glad they’ve got a union that is working for them. Mine only managed 1.75%
Well i wont be buying Cadbury choc to pay for it. End off
Brexit is working.
watch them lay off 17.5% of their workforce. this kind of thing often makes a nice news story but doesn’t mean what people think it does. people lose their jobs, product quality drops, costs get cut.
Shame the chocolate has turned into garbage. Try melting some tell me what happens …,

Woah. I’m so jealous.
