That mostly worked. Trying to unwind the inequities introduced on his watch will take ages.
Hard to argue it didn’t work.
They learnt from Trump that a chest thumping, flag waving idiot somehow appeals to the masses.
Actually the left chose someone completely unfit for the role of leader, Jeremy Corbyn, and this was the weapon that defeated the left.
Nah, they didn’t. They chose Johnson to break the Brexit deadlock. very little of the 2019 election was on policy. Corbyn damaged the left and now leftist policies are almost untenable..very time a Labour leader tries to push a left policy, the media will tell them the electorate has already rejected the policy
Either this involves redefining “the British establishment” beyond belief or it is just delusional. Boris was not the first pick of the parliamentary Conservative party but very popular with the party membership. He was tolerated by the parliamentary party because he won a large majority. He was done in by the Westminster clique as soon as it looked reasonably possible he’d lose that majority again.
I suspect it also involves redefining “the Left” to the point that Tony Blair would be considered extreme right wing.
If by “The British Establishment” they mean “A plurality of voters”, then sure…
“Owning the libs” – all the crazy American stuff is coming over here.
Well, he’s deffo a weapon.
I mean he has only really pushed centre-left policies.

Johnson is more of a tool than a weapon IMO.
