The problem with EVs is that hardly anyone can afford them. If you don’t have your own photovoltaics then you hardly save anything vs diesel. I’ll buy an Ioniq next year but only because I am also smothering my roof with PV. Otherwise it doesn’t make sense at the moment. And many people aren’t as fortunate, especially the ones living in large cities (though why own a car in a large city?).
