People should avoid going to the emergencies in the Canton of Zurich as the number of Covid patient is high.
It’s the same pretty much everywhere. In Bern there is an alert for ambulances for quite a while now, that they have to distribute patients to several hospitals as all of them are mostly full, we had to close several wards due to lack of personnel, the ICU was 2/3 closed for a few weeks, etc. The healthcare system is just at capacity, the outpatient parts are also overwhelmed (wait times of 3-4 months in my clinic). I am not sure how this is going to end. It’s not overwhelmed currently due to Covid cases, more because of healthcare personnel out with covid (or long covid), and many that have left due to the working conditions etc. (that part has been seriously aggravated by Covid, though).
