Sanctioned goods to Kaliningrad can transit Lithuania by rail, says Brussels

  1. Shameful move by the EU. Not sanctioning gas is reasonable as doing so would greatly harm our economies, but how does the EU benefit from allowing Russia to supply Königsberg with luxury goods?

  2. Weird that this is even up to the EU.

But hopefully the concession will mean they turn on NS1 again at least.

  3. Only to save your ass Germany by indirectly sacrificing Lithuania… No lessons learned from history. Go fuck yourselves..

  4. Can Lithuania continue the sanctions anyway? Do Lithuania want to continue the sanctions?

Interesting that the EU has come out against blocking transport of goods from one part of a nation to another (assuming reasoning is basically Germany’s). Are they saying the way to remove the NIP is for UK to invade someplace – if so surely we can get some credit for previous work in that area. /s

  5. Guys I think we shoud start repairing those rails to kaliningrad, time for some “maintenance” what do you think?

  6. I guess the Commission can just decide whatever the fuck they want. Recently they said Lithuania implemented the sanctions correctly. Now they arent. Maybe someone competent should be deciding these things, not these politicians.

    >The European Commission has issued new guidelines, saying sanctions do not apply to rail transit via Lithuania to Russia’s Kaliningrad

The EU Commission was so fast to decide and push this through, Im sure they will be just as effective in sanctioning rail transport. No? Hmmmm…
