Grant Shapps considering leadership bid as Dominic Raab rules himself out of contest after Boris Johnson resigns

  1. Can just imagine he’ll say it’s not his job to run the country just like it wasn’t his job to negotiate with the rail workers.

  2. Ha! You’ve been played Raab, he never really resigned at all!

Looks like Boris is going to force a vote of no confidence in the house. Do Tories want him gone so bad they’re willing to risk their own jobs? Because no confidence in the government would mean an election, and I don’t think many of those Tories are gonna hold on to their seats…

Boris has them where it hurts- their wallets. It’s the only real motivator that lot have, it seems.

  3. Shapps has too much baggage, with that mulitiple identity mess a few year back. I think the next leader has to squeaky clean. I think Hunt has a good chance. He’s held one of the top 3 posts and is untainted by being in Johnson’s cabinet. He’s a pratt tho. It’s a shame Rory Stewart didn’t hang around. He’d have a chance. Personally I think the next PM will be a seat warmer for George Osborne. He’ll get a safe seat soon.

  4. Dominic Raab ruled himself out a while ago by proving himself utterly incompetent and thick as mince, but yeah, nice to know he accepts reality unlike his boss.

  5. Which name is he gonna be using ? Or is he gonna create a new persona entirely ?

Least if he gets in there will be consistency as he’s got a fair old habit of lying himself.

  6. Vote Michael Green, Uhh vote Sebastion Fox, sorry I mean vote Corrine Stockheath! Silly me I meant to say vote Grant Shapps! He’s the man to restore honesty and integrity in politics!

It always amuses me that out of all the alias’ he’s gone by that Grant Shapps sounds like the made up one.

  7. With the list of potentials it just screams to me, ‘it’s all hit the fucking skids’. Grant Shapps as PM!!? He would try to start flogging you dodgy insurance with your voting slip.
