Nike and LEGO have unveiled a space-inspired kids’ basketball collection featuring the Air Force 1 Low LV8 and S.T. Dynamite sneakers. One shoe borrows its look from an astronaut’s spacesuit, while the other heads to an icy alien planet, complete with LEGO minifigures and spacecraft. Prices start at AUD $110 for the younger kids’ S.T. Dynamite, with an international rollout starting 2 November.
Looks like Nike is playing basketball in space again. Just weeks after Jordan Brand revealed its 30th-anniversary Space Jam collection, the Swoosh has teamed up with LEGO for another trip beyond the court and into outer space. But instead of going toe-to-toe with the Monstars, tiny astronauts and brick-built spacecraft orbit a couple of sneakers that look ready to play ball amongst the stars.
At the centre of the Nike x LEGO basketball collection are two radically different kids’ shoes. The Air Force 1 Low LV8 takes its astronautical duties seriously, with a design inspired by actual spacesuits. The S.T. Dynamite, meanwhile, looks like it’s been playing ball on a planet in the middle of an icy blizzard. Both remain unmistakably Nike, with LEGO’s whimsical wonder giving each pair a distinct personality that a simple logo could never hope to capture.
It continues a multi-year partnership that has already produced a buildable Nike Dunk alongside several footwear releases. This time, miniature space explorers, an alien basketball court and a matching space-themed clothing range join the mix. While this collection is exclusive to the little ones, I’d say a fair few of these sneakers will touch down under the Christmas tree this year.

Two Sneakers, Two Very Different Space Missions
The Nike Air Force 1 Low LV8 is a charming little sneaker. Its pale, slightly crinkled upper resembles an astronaut’s spacesuit, with black sketched stitching outlining the familiar AF1 panels. A giant red Swoosh curves around a bright yellow planet, while the turquoise outsole and LEGO details add even more colour. It’s still the familiar Air Force 1, only now it looks like it’s been issued by mission control.
While the LV8 orbits in deep space, the Nike S.T. Dynamite appears to have landed somewhere quite unusual, trading the pale spacesuit look for a star-speckled black-and-blue upper, bright cyan graphics and a jagged lavender sole that resembles cracked ice. It features a colour-shifting finish and a glittery outsole to match its icy treatment.

Underneath all that space-age styling is a lightweight upper, bouncy foam cushioning and multidirectional tread designed to grip the basketball court, whether that’s hardwood or asphalt. A miniature alien basketball court, complete with a scoreboard, rounds out the space-basketball setting.
Both designs go heavy in the paint with LEGO branding and playful details, but each has its own place in the line-up. The Air Force 1 is ready for everyday adventures, while the S.T. Dynamite is built for the basketball courts of Earth, even if it looks like it’s travelled across the galaxy to get here.

You’ll need a bit more closet space if you want everything from the Nike x LEGO basketball collection. The set includes printed ripstop trousers, a graphic T-shirt, Dri-FIT basketball shorts and a full-zip fleece hoodie. The hoodie also comes equipped with a basketball minifigure patch that changes as you move. There’s also a spaceship-style sleeve port holding a custom Nike Rayguns minifigure.
Even the basketball shorts get an all-over lunar landscape print, while the cargo trousers carry the space theme across their ripstop fabric. For kids whose imagination knows no bounds, this level of detail makes the collaboration a little more special.
For the older kids, the Air Force 1 Low LV8 goes for AUD $190, while the S.T. Dynamite will set you back AUD $120. For the younger kids, the S.T. Dynamite is ten bucks less at AUD $110. There’s also a separate younger-kids’ Force 1 for AUD $170. The full-zip hoodie is AUD $120, ripstop cargo trousers are AUD $95, and basketball shorts are AUD $65.
Nike says the collection will begin rolling out on 2 November in select markets across Asia, the Pacific and elsewhere, followed by North America on 24 November.
For all the kids out there, the astronaut Air Force 1 is sure to spark the imagination in more ways than one. Shame my feet are well outside the target age bracket.
