Our little cousin from America is in town and took her shopping for Irish snacks. What’s your favourite? What did we forget?

  1. TK red lemonade, lots of other countries have lemonade but red lemonade seems very Irish. You could also get Cidona, used to love it when I was a kid. Cleeves toffees and Emerald sweets, again very Irish.

  2. Red lemonade. We’re one of the only countries where the colouring isn’t banned.

Maybe a bottle of Cidona too?

    Wagon wheels

Not sure about the cheaper “penny sweets” like blackjack, fruit salad, dipdab, bon bons etc

  3. You got the toffee pops. That’s the main thing.

Although they aren’t Irish, a box of Tunnocks teacakes would be a grand addition.

  4. Don’t let them leave without giving them a Freddo or 7. Also Stinger bars and Chewits, yeah they’re terrible for your teeth but sure she’s on holiday!

Haribos, cola bottles, Milkyway. She’ll be going back telling all her friends how great Irish sweets are.

  5. Well it’s going to be a hot weekend and wibbly wobbly wonders are not made anymore.
So take her/him to,is it Aldi or Lidl that do jiggly pops.soo good!

  6. Ya miserable shite … ya could have at least bought her coco pops and cheerios instead of Tesco own brand !

  7. I think the Buffalo flavour Hunky Dory might be unique to Ireland (They’re made in Co. Meath). I’ve never had anything similar in any other country, and they are by far my favourite crisp.

  8. I’ve lived in the us since 2009 and when mum and dad come to visit they have to bring crunchies, fruit pastilles, jellly tots, freddo bars, gold bars, celebrations/ quality streets and hp sauce. There must be a sample supply in their carry on or I won’t pick them up from the airport
