More media coverage and more interpretation from both parties make us look away from the reality.
However, I got no clue about the overall reliability of this paper
Out of all the islands and inhabited colonies the UK and France have, we can’t find one to put all the migrants on till they’re process.
> or they have been persuaded that the UK, without ID cards, is an El Dorado for migrants.
This touches on what is probably one of the biggest factors; It is much easier to live undocumented in the UK than France, so the UK is a much more attractive destination.
Anyone got a non-paywall link?
>Since 2015, France has absorbed 160,000 asylum seekers, Britain less than 10,000.
Kind reminder we were chease eating surrender monkeys when we refused to invade Iraq…you know the war that fucked up the ME even more and eventually led to ISIS ?
Anyway, as I commented on Yurop, maybe France has something to win by convincing these migrants to stay here and become workers for this country. We shouldn’t be too optimistic about this of course, but if we’re pragmatic these people can be workers and taxpayers (many asylum seekers are apprentices now and are being trained) for France. We just need to have the will to make them workers and taxpayers.
For those that really want to leave, we can’t detain them unfortunately. And the Tories can’t keep being fragile ladies in distress about this.
Good article.
The migrant crisis is a useful way to fill headlines. The French government is easily wound up by Boris and so he does so when he needs a distraction for domestic reasons. Everyone knows full well France plays a significant role in blocking migration to the U.K.
Just here to see the comments.
Maybe replacing France with Turkey and the UK with the EU in the title could generate some opinions 🙂
France is not UK’s personal border patrol force.
It does it’s either out of good will, which – let’s be frank- at this point is nearly entirely depleted, or as part of an agreement, which Bojo’s governement has decided to not stick by. And it has only itself to blame for that.
That guy has tried very hard to antagonize France at literally every opportunities in order to score stupid short term political point at home with his base. he went too far this time though. French people are going to increasingly start to wonder what is the point of the Touquet accord and the point to work for a “partner” that is not even willing to do its part with cost sharing.

Interesting article to be fair.
