Boris Johnson future: ‘Prime Minister should resign before he has to put up adverts for ministers in the Jobcentre’

  1. This morning alone:

    19m ago:
Tory MP Lee Anderson says he can no longer back Johnson, arguing ‘integrity should always come first’

    38m ago:
Tory MP Robert Halfon says he now favours leadership change, saying there has been ‘real loss of integrity’

    1h ago:
Robin Walker resigns as schools minister, saying he no longer has faith in PM’s leadership

2h ago: Will Quince resigns as minister, saying he had ‘no choice’ after using false information from No 10 in interviews

    2h ago:
Laura Trott resigns as PPS in transport department, saying trust in politics ‘of upmost importance’

  2. Let me see if I understand this. All those ministers were just fine with Boris attending parties during lockdown and lying to the country about it. But suddenly now integrity is paramount ?

  3. We’re witnessing a historic situation where a PM has completely failed at their job, everything is calling for them to resign, but they won’t go, and apparently can’t be fired.

Clearly the rules are broken. There’s little to no safeguarding in place to protect the country and its people from a narcissistic egomaniac PM who’d rather watch everything sink than simply resign. It’s madness.

  4. What are the odds of him changing the locks and claiming squatters rights by the end of the week, and the next cabinet reshuffle to involve a selection of sock puppets?

  5. All he do is just give the positions to his mates and find new ways to steal from the taxpayer before calling an election so he can avoid resigning and use his time in office to make even more cash.

  6. Get rid of this idiot. Right Wing nationalism is a plague. This guy is the number 2 problem after Donald Trump. The US is already completely fucked (live there and currently immigrating out), the UK is definitely hurting, but there is still a chance.

  7. This is fuckall about integrity and everything to do with deserting the sinking ship and looking at their future appointment in the next PMship.

    Just tories being tories. Self->party->country

  8. I’m sure people know this already but let’s make it clear. These ministers didn’t suddenly find some morality and decided that they cannot stand by Boris. Its a fact that the public has started to get sick of his shit now and anyone seen by his side would also feel the fallout in the next election. This is all just politics but its very clear to everyone, including Boris, his career in politics is pretty much done

  9. No he shouldn’t resign so when the next elections come the tories don’t have a chance of having someone good representing them

    >*Jessica Elgot: Tory whips can’t find backbenchers to fill vacant ministerial posts, MPs say*
    >
    >Conservative MPs say that they have heard from party whips that there are now no MPs prepared to fill the vacant positions from those who have resigned en masse.
    >
    >One former minister who has stayed loyal to Johnson told their whip that there were absolutely no terms they were prepared to accept and said the whip had agreed with them.
    >
    >Another MP said they believed that message had been conveyed in “brusque tones” to Downing Street.

  11. There should be general election – period. People need to give opinion on who should pick up this mess and make it right.

  12. Is the Queen technically permitted to dissolve the Parliament? Even though she won’t and she doesn’t supposed to have any political stance and power otherwise?

If true, common Lizzie, here is your one in a life time chance to directly support the people. You would be the last straw to lose confide in the Parliament Led by Boris.

  13. Can’t wait to see these adverts in the Jobcentre!

    Wanted: Political Scapegoat

Skills: Went to same school as Boris

Salary: As much as you can fit in your pockets

    Previous experience not required

    Must know Microsoft XP

  14. Where did he get his current lot if not from there? He was hardly working with a brain trust as it was to begin with. The moderates all left when he took charge and he has continued to lose ministers as time went on. The likes of Truss, Dorries and Braverman just show how he is scraping the bottom of the barrel already.

  15. Can we petition for him to be barred from entering parliament in any official capacity after his removal from office?

  16. Keep going, Boris!

    Don’t listen to those ministers!

You’ve got Dorres and Rees-Mogg on your side so it’s all looking good.

Please stay _as long as possible_ as the _more damage you can do to the Tory brand so that it’s unelectable for decades, the better._

Can you imagine the panic at Tory HQ for how all this is going down? I’m loving it.
