It really does remind me a lot of early 90’s youth documentary series *Captain Planet*.
Taking a dump at Shetland.
If proven the fine should be a percentage of global income. Not profit, income.
Enough to sting and focus minds, but not enough to ruin them.
Am I reading this right? They moor a boat to the seabed with cables. They want to drop those cables that are already in the sea onto the seabed?
Either Opred are in BP’s back pocket and have had bribes, or there’s something wrong with the governing bodies heads. How can this be acceptable, and literally what went through their minds when they said “OK BP, drop the pipes and risers but please collect them in a few years”? Once the deed is done, BP have no incentive to collect them, a cleanup operation would probably be ultimately funded by tax payers money (if it even happens at all), and by that point any damage will have already been done.
What a fucking disgrace.
Another ‘We’re Sorry’ video will be released for the News at 10, I’m sure of it. That will make the wildlife feel all better and forget about it.
I mean they probably are. The question is what do we want to do about it? Elect another useless goverent that openly takes donations from them?
