  1. Zone-30 and speed limit 30 are not the same thing.

    Translated from https://www.acs.ch/de/sektionen/zuerich/dienstleistungen/Verkehrssituationen/Unterschied-Tempo-und-Zone-30.php :

The difference between zone and route is legally relevant. In a 30 km/h zone, the right of way generally applies. In a 30 km/h route, on the other hand, the right of way can be withdrawn from the roads leading into the route. This means that the users of the 30 km/h route have the right of way. Furthermore, there are usually no pedestrian crossings in the zones, pedestrians are allowed to cross the road everywhere, but vehicles still have the right of way over pedestrians.

  2. End of a 30-Zone, start of a street with a 30 km/h speed limit.

A 30-zone is from the start of a 30-zone sign until you see the end of 30-zone sign. Priority from the right applies in 30-zones (No priority from the right when you have to cross a sidewalk). Zebra crossings are usually one used in the vicinity of schools/kindergarten.

A 30 km/h speed limit is only until the next intersection. If the 30 km/h applies also after the intersection there must be a new 30 km/h speed limit sign. Traffic light, signage such as stop and yield, and priority from the right (No priority from the right when you have to cross a sidewalk) are used on such streets.

  3. Not the same thing, but some asshat NIMBY managed to get a 25m (!!!) stretch of a street called route de bossey in Geneva down to 30km/h. I can’t believe my tax dollars went to the creation of those 4 signs. Truly ridiculous. You can see the « no longer 30 » sign right behind the 30 sign when going east!

  4. es ist, um zu zeigen das schweizer geld haben und sie gern den armen leuten das geld aus den hosen ziehen.

  5. Looks like a perfect waste of tax money to me. But hey, from the perspective of the social city rulers it’s just other (rich) peoples money…

  6. Shit, just don’t drive a car in Switzerland. But wait, Taxis cost more than 6 months in a hotel somewhere out of country or a flight to anywhere in the world; so it is just one single sign of what happens there: you are fucked. Just work, go home, don’t drive a car and be a good citizen!

I love Switzerland and my driver hates it!

…and don’t forget to pay your taxes!

  7. This is a prime example for the horrendous waste of tax money in Switzerland. Many Tnx to the authorities taking so much care for our hard earned cash. Ah yes for the Seniors out of the production process there won’t be enough money in the future, leading to an increase in taxes to pay…

  8. A 30-Zone is not the same as a 30 km/h speed limit.

Someone didn‘t pay attention while learning for his driving exam 🙂

  9. Well bikes are a form of transport. Some people can ride them and other know how to block traffic with them.
