  1. Text from article: “The 1922 committee of Tory backbenchers has decided not to change the rules to allow a second confidence vote against Boris Johnson, the BBC has been told.

It will instead hold an election on Monday to choose its new executive.

Any rule changes would be discussed by the new executive.

Last month, Johnson survived a confidence vote by Conservative MPs. Under existing rules, he is immune from another confidence vote for a year since the last one.”

  2. Makes sense I guess. I can’t see a world in where the new executive wouldn’t then change the rules. Although I am really enjoying the collapse of the Tory party, it’ll have to stop at some point.

  3. Waiting for the news on Monday “Michael Gove elected new executive, set to decide the fate of Boris”

  4. The gap in no confidence votes is their for good reason. And should not be changed on a whim.

Changing it opens up the ability to constantly have votes and disable uk parliment.

I fear who ever takes over from him will have close ties to russia and pull the support of ukraine.
