  1. > Michael Gove has told Boris Johnson he must go, The Mail+ can reveal.

    > At a meeting this morning, the Housing Secretary urged the Prime Minister to stand down.

    > Mr Gove helped Mr Johnson to prepare for Prime Minister’s Questions, but was noticeably absent from the frontbench as he faced MPs at noon.

    > Sources have told The Mail+ that beforehand the Cabinet minister told Mr Johnson he should quit.

    > A spokesman for Mr Gove did not dispute this.

  2. No amount of people asking Boris to go will lead to him going. It’s clear at this point he’s too much of a self-serving narcissist for that.

We’re past talk. The government (or what’s left of it) **must** force him out, even if his fingers are degloved while trying to cling onto No.10’s windowsill.

  3. I wonder why this is happening now. It can’t be just the Pincher situation. Why support him during the VONC then get rid of him now?

  4. It would be absolutely hilarious to see the bigdog loose a vote of no confidence and just carry on as PM.

All these MP’s who have suddenly developed a conscience, what an absolute joke.

I hope this shitshow keeps rolling on.

  5. Gove is a slippery fucker, he’ll only commit once there is an assured level of destruction. You’ll note from the exclusive, Gove hasn’t actually said anything himself direct, it’s simply being reported through different mouthpieces that he has said something. This will be him once again playing both sides and will, in the event Boris survives, be quickly releasing a clarification that he does indeed support the prime minister and if Boris does not survive, quickly swoop in to take credit.

  6. I don’t mean to be an optimist, but I don’t know *how* he can carry on under this pressure. The Liason Committee just dragged him through the coals, which he had no answer to other tan to try and change the subject. And now apparently his new chancellor of 24 hours is about to join the delegation of MPs telling him its time to go.

He really is the most desperately power hungry demagogue to ever be PM. I don’t understand how he can remain in power for much longer.

  7. Now Gove will toady up to the most likely MP to replace Johnson so he can continue on his mission to hold every position in the Cabinet. Prime Ministers are temporary but Gove seems to be eternal.
