  4. I’m pretty sympathetic towards them despite the show taking a noticeable downturn in quality the last few seasons. They were dealt a shite hand when their job changed from adapting complex published novels to forecasted (with input from Martin) unpublished works. Definitely wasn’t helped that most of the best characters were dead a while before the end. Ending in particular was ropey but final season not all bad; the bottle ep before the battle for Winterfell was one of the best of the last few seasons.

  7. They did the impossible by making the books into a show.
    Not only that, but making it into an amazing show with a gigantic following, did they fuck it all up during the last 2 seasons? Absolutely, They had checked out mentally from it but they gave us some of the best moments in all of TV and while the sopranos revolutionised television as we know it, game of thrones turned TV into a cinematic experience.

    Edit: god, you got to love this sub, you can’t be positive without a bunch of negative bastards downvoting you for stating that the show was popular.

  14. I thought season 8 was extremely good. Mind you i only watched the top 10 IMDB episodes of all time and THEN season 8. In comparison to most shows it was top shelf. Exciting and thought provoking. It was rushed i suppose. You cant get everything right

  17. These lads did an outstanding job in creating literally the biggest show in television history. For 6 (and a half seasons), the quality was pretty much second to none. Sure S8 was shite but they were between a rock and a hard place. I love how GRRM always gets a pass on it, it’s not like they plucked the story arcs out of their ass
