The Turkish opposition leader called for Turkey to veto the NATO membership of Sweden and Finland unless Turkey returns to the F-35 program, and also called for the cancellation of the 2016 refugee deal with the EU. He also accused Erdogan of making a deal with Biden to keep Afghans in Turkey.

  1. CHP Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu made a statement regarding the statements made by Finland and Sweden after reaching an agreement and the decision to restrict the sale of F-16s to Turkey, which was voted and accepted in the US House of Representatives yesterday. Calling the President and AKP Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, the CHP leader said, “Get out and say, “I signed, but the opposition will prevent it from being approved in the parliament, and I do not have full control on this issue in my own group.” Kılıçdaroğlu suggested that he sit down on the table about the S-400s again, and cited the ‘only condition’ not to invite the translator who took part in the critical meetings.

    Kılıçdaroğlu’s statements are as follows:

    “My Dear People,

Scandalous statements from Finland and Sweden even before the ink on the NATO signature was dry showed that Erdogan signed again without getting anything. Now we see that the scandal continues in the F-16 issue.

As if it wasn’t enough for us to be removed from the F-35 fighter jet project, of which we are one of the investors (owners), and we can’t get our money back, we see that they are trying to impose conditions on where we can and cannot use the F-16 planes that we have been begging for.

Whenever Erdogan took our lady daughter with him as a translator in diplomatic meetings, either millions of illegal asylum seekers entered our country or they had our nation sign contracts with a very high cost. I’ve always said it and I’ll say it again, the West knows a lot about Erdogan and indirectly supports the Erdogan regime, because they could not get any government other than the Erdogan regime to accept that many refugees in our country.

Erdogan is not in a position to bring anything tangible to this country except cheap propaganda. Let them stop saying “external forces” like that. The West is not hostile to the Erdogan regime. I would argue that the West adores and supports such leaders, whom it knows a lot about and retains.

When we win the election, our first job will be to cancel the 2016 EU-Turkey Refugee agreement, which humiliates the Turkish people and turns our country into a refugee dump, and to ensure that refugees return, if necessary, despite all kinds of international pressure. We certainly do not regard the peace of our own people as less valuable than those of foreigners. We want good relations with the West, but as long as the West sees Turkey as a buffer zone protecting 5 million refugees from them, we think it is imperialism, not equal good relations for mutual benefit.

Now Erdogan, let me tell you what to do. Come out and say, “I signed, but the opposition will prevent it from being approved in the parliament, I don’t have full control over this issue in my own group either.” We are bluntly saying that we will not vote in the parliamentary vote in favor of ratifying the NATO membership of Sweden and Finland unless concrete concessions are made in our country’s interest.

    “We have only one condition”

As long as Turkey sits at the table again. We have only one condition. This time, don’t try to do business just by taking our translator lady with you, let the competent diplomats do their job. No one should leave the table without an agreement on the F-35 and S-400 issues.

Here I am calling out to the US. If you’re going to look for a culprit in this matter, we’re to blame. If you have a problem, deal with us. We will also request our translator lady to explain to our state after the elections what was discussed with Biden at that meeting that led to hundreds of thousands of Afghan refugees coming to our country. Every authority given comes with responsibility. He’s old enough to know that, too.”

    What happened?

US President Joe Biden, at the press conference after the NATO Summit, used the expressions “I think we will get approval from the Congress” regarding the sale of the F-16 to Turkey.

The U.S. House of Representatives had passed a Pallone/Pappas amendment by 179 votes to 244, banning the sale of F-16s to Turkey unless U.S. President Joe Biden’s “concrete steps” of not using F-16 warplanes to breach Greek airspace are provided.

  2. No more Sweden and Finland NATO dreams. Bye Bye American bases in Turkey. bye bye access to Middle east. Bye bye access to Black Sea. Bye bye gas and oil pipelines from middle east to Europe. You will be blockaded from your South and East.

Turkey doesn’t need dog shit allies like USA and Europe that is clear. Time to join Russian / China / Pakistan nuclear umbrella and point nukes at Turkey’s real enemies.

Now you can deal with 5 million refugees and fanatics from middle east yourselves, Turkey doesn’t have to stop them for you.

  3. Dedicated to all fellow European folks here who were convinced that once Erdogan is gone everything will go back to normal lmao

  4. He forgot to tell something. EU gave 100% support to Erdoğan between 1996-2013. All of the EU states did it. If you check German, Dutch, French, Italian, Belgian, British media they refer Erdoğan as “Big hope of democracy”. Cem Özdemir was giving blowjob to Erdoğan in 2010. Even today most of the Erdoğan policies are supported by EU. Most of the islamist groups in Turkey (Gülen, İsmailağa, Süleymancılar, Nurcular, İskenderpaşa etc.) have branches in Germany. They all vote for Erdoğan and get endless support from German government. For example fanatic sunni people burned alevi people alive in an hotel in Turkey in year 1993. People who did it are German citizens today. Germany doesnt arrest them and give them to Turkey. Islamization is an EU policy and most of the EU is supporting it.

  5. Erdogan held some private meetings with Biden and only this “translator lady” was present alongside Erdogan in those meetings. **No notes taken**. Only erdogan and that “translator lady” (she is a translator of Turkey Republic but she is an US citizen btw). knows what topics were discussed in those meetings. Even the closest guys to Erdogan knows anything.

After the meetings, thousands of Afghan people have been rushing to Turkey and people claim that Erdogan and Biden had a secret agreement about this new illegal refugee boom. Now we also have an Afghan refugee crisis after the Syrian one.

Before you blame this guy and spit your hatred to Turkey maybe just think why he is keep saying about this “translator lady” in his speech. Also ask yourself why Biden became pro-turkey so quickly?

  6. All I am able to read is “Bird country peaceful, pillar of stability in the region”

    (Pls help)

  7. Kick Turkey out of NATO.

NATO should be an alliance of democracies. Turkey is no democracy.

  8. In Greece we know for years that the CHP is **just as bad as Erdogan** when it comes to foreign policy.

Turkey’s blatant disregard for international law, rampant nationalism in society, normalization of using military means instead of diplomatic, strongman behaviour and all the shit that comes along with it is *not* an Erdogan thing. It’s a Turkey thing. But the West prefers to bury their head in the sand, mutter something about “geostrategic position of Turkey” and blame Erdogan, trying to convinve themselves that a CHP-led Turkey would abide by international treaties and stop causing trouble left and right.

  9. Turkey can rejoin the F-35 program, if it gets rid of the S-400. This has always been the US position and it is not going to change.

Turkey does not have access to the codebase of the S-400, which means that it has no way of verifying whether or not Russia modified the code for espionage (and Russia would definitely do something like that).

Turkey does not participate in the manufacture of the S-400 at all. The systems are delivered from Russia. Turkey has no way of verifying whether or not Russia altered the components in the S-400 during manufacture for espionage. Even if Turkey had the codebase for the S-400, there would be no way of making sure the S-400 didn’t have a separate system for espionage hidden with the maze of circuit boards of the S-400 (at least, not without completely dissecting an S-400 down to its individual microchips and running everything through an electron scanning microscope- and even that wouldn’t be foolproof).

Until recently, Turkish military personnel weren’t even the ones responsible for maintaining the S-400. Russian contractors from the military/Almaz Antey were going around Turkish bases and handling the S-400. Russian operatives have had years to work on the S-400 without anyone in Turkey being able to verify that they weren’t collecting data, installing backdoors, or secretly modifying the S-400.

Ditching the S-400 would be embarrassing for Erdogan, and Erdogan has always put his own pride ahead of everything else. At any rate Turkey doesn’t need the F-35 or the F-16, Bulgaria and Greece are NATO members and Turkish citizens can count on them to protect Turkey against everything except Erdogan’s pride.

  10. Wait, so guys here don’t like him because he doesn’t want EU to treat Turkey like a refugee center? If he is opponent to Erdogan it doesn’t mean he is dumb and will be working against Turkish people just to please the hypocritical EU politics towards Turkey. No one wants millions of refugees in their country, and so doesn’t Turkey too.

  11. Folks, imagine you are Turkish citizen. Read the title and comments and write what do you think…

  12. Some dudes here are mad at opposition for refugee stuff. So you guys want us to keep refugees so they don’t get to EU? Why should we do that sacrifice? You guys don’t want them but we should be a refugee center?
