Obviously overflows should be reduced as much as possible, however they are a vital part of any design.
A pump can only pump so much, and a plant can only treat so much.
So you need an overflow or that water will be going out of manholes and back into houses.
Seems like NIs overall treatment works is marginally better.
I’m really surprised they are giving actual numbers.
