Not a surprise to anyone unless they already have paid off the mortgage.
Good enough for them, should be a fringe party.
The party percentages shouldn’t be the main worry for the coalition, as SF rising is probably expected
But the absolute collapse in support for Martin (down 11) and Varadkar (down 12) could set alarm bells off, particularly for the FF rebels
Quite the fall from grace for FG who will surely be dumbstruck as to how they’ve fallen so far despite the economy performing so well.
Their failure to solve issues across the HSE and their abject policy failures in Housing have cost them dearly.
This is kind of funny to see happen, as I recall an Irish Times Inside Politics podcast after some polling came out saying support for Fine Gael had dropped to 20 something percentage points and the line from the panelists was “oh it’s not a drop it’s really just them reverting to the mean”
Looking forward to the spin on this one; “Well really it’s all Putin’s fault somehow”
Reap what you sow. FG are scum through and through.
Let’s try something new FFS.
Time for them to double down, make a 32-page dossier on Sinn Féin.
Just wait until the winter. With energy prices rising and expected to continue to rise, if it gets cold then the trouble will really begin.
I can’t wait until Sinn Fein get their chance. That way it’ll show we’re fucked no matter who is in charge (though I would vote for them for two terms since they’ve never been in charge before)
What’s going to happen FG at the next election is going to make what happened FF in 2011 look like a minor bump in the road.
No wonder they’re running scared of an election.
Every FG seat is now in play, and the longer they keep Leako as leader, the harder it’s going to be to recover.
And they believe they represent the best solution to Irish problems. They’ll be celebrating Collins in August and Flanagan believes the IRA in the War of Independence were murderers. Do these people actually join up the dots?
Independents are absolutely going to start distancing fast & far from FFG
Edit: Just reading this sounds like I think this will happen during the current govt! I meant if the next regular election leads to more SF, and there’ll be enough of a few independents that will lean away from associating directly with FFG in order to keep in power- their actual beliefs will not change, just some of the direct association with the people currently in those powers
Looks like the Fine Gael horde is up early this morning.
The demise of FFG isn’t unexpected. Their percentages have been heading down since early 90s.
But who would have thought SF would equal their combined total!! Labour leaders should be sent to a Tipperary gulag.
On a side note, be sure to check out tonight’s Bobby Storey Funeral Claire Byrne Special
Had the unfortunate bad luck of being stuck beside a fella who works at FG HQ when at a wedding recently.
When the conversation we were having turned to “work” he got all sanctimonious about how FG are the best party for the country and that they ignore the opinion poles as they are usually end up being a bad sample size or “very reactionary” people polled and that when it comes down to it most people won’t vote SF because of the negative history with the IRA.
Stated the last GE was a 1 off and that they expect people to back to FG and FF in their droves from SF so they can form a government (FG & FF) without the f##king greens and that Eamon Ryan is absolutely hated by most of the FG and the FF TDs.
I’m voting sinn Fein, ffg have been in power collectively for 20 years, theyre just making things worse every year, there is not a single service that is efficient in this country. They have ruined this country and are just a bunch of scroungey greedy pricks honestly.
PBP gain 2% to put them on par with Greens but for some reason are not included in the graphic.
Used to happen with the SDs too when they were on par or higher than Labour but still listed under “Other”.
Love to see it
What’s the logic in the party ordering of that image?

It’s not alphabetical. It’s not by party size in the Dail or by popularity. Just… random?
Not sure how I feel about the SF surge, but it’s great to see FFG support going down.
How anyone not in the “landlord class” could still be a Fine Gael supporter in 2022 is beyond me. It is literally the lamb voting for the slaughter if you’re not in the richest 10% of people.
My dad was a life long Sinn Fein supporter and put in countless hours to help them over the years. He died earlier this year. I really wish he could have lived to see the next election. He would have loved it. We had tons of fun during the last one, and I think that was just a taste of what’s to come.
Fuck FG and FF. They are corporate servants and war mongers ignoring our constitutional neutrality. Plus they’re both corrupt and have the people of Ireland over a barrel for 100 years. I hope they go soon for good.
FG have lost the middle class
What did they expect would happen when theyve shafted the majority of people under 40?
Only a matter of time before Michelle (NI) and Mary Lou take office.
Support for Kang at lowest level since 1994 as Kodos hits record high
Just surprised fffg aren’t even lower in the polls. Who is going to vote for them? Lying bastards
I believe Mary Lou McDonald, Paul Murphy and Richard Boyd Barrett are full of hatred. I believe the animal which best represents them would be the serpent.
Nice
Good.
Even if you think Sinn Fein populist and not great anything is better than the other lot.
Based Irish
Blueshirts, be gone!
It’ll be very interesting next election how FG and FF try to convince us they are not the same party!
Some thanks they get. Took the country from the absolute brink into unimaginable prosperity. All the while bringing us gay marriage and abortion. People have short memories.

Would love it if we had a teal party in Ireland.
