Love the fact they have all been given ratings like football players after a match.
That’s like asking what’s my favourite bread to use for a dogshit sandwich.
It’s like trying to pick the cleanest turd after a horrendous post-curry dump.
There’s a big Rory Stewart shaped hole in the government right now. An intelligent and honest man with integrity, it’s no surprise he walked away from this shit show.
The question is can they go straight to a *new broom*, and *fresh start* or do they need a patsy to rod the drains before the next election?
Hmm which type of gun do i want to shoot myself with? Hmmm, decisions, decisions…
Tom is my pick as he’s the freshest, youngest and most moderate candidate I can think of. That’s said as a Labour voter who has ideological differences with the conservatives but I do appreciate they have a mandate to form government….just not with a criminal.
I don’t think Rishi will ever get over his wifes tax arrangements, it’d undermine any economic policy he has.
Ben Wallace has done well as Defence Secretary but has done poorly in every other job he has had.
Tugenhadt and Hunt won’t get enough support after the last round of de selections before 2019.
Not sure who Mordaunt is so I am surprised she is the favourite.
Liz Truss has all the charisma of a wet tea towel but i think it will be her. She is supported in the party.
This potato emoji 🥔….better morals and intelligence compared to most Tory MPs.
Sounded like Sajid Javid is trying to distance himself from this whole mess after his personal statement today. Still can’t see him having a genuine shot at the leadership.
I’ve said in the past that Jeremy Hunt or Penny Mordaunt might have a reasonable shot since they’ve managed to keep enough distance from this whole scandal, despite Penny currently being Minister of State for Trade Policy.
Jeremy Hunt does have his previous loss against Boris though, plus his background as a Remainer. That could all work against him. Picking the previous runner-up might look like a weak move.
So maybe Penny, running on the basis of being a Brexiteer with a decent track record who is currently flying round the world to make trade deals. She’s had some reasonably high profile roles, including a brief stint as Defence Secretary. I’m not sure how well known she actually is outside of political circles. Might also be slightly too socially liberal for the party at the moment.
I know Ben Wallace has been put forward as the favourite due to his handling of the ongoing war in Ukraine but I believe he mentioned not actually wanting to run. I’m not sure I fully believe that but I’m also not confident that the polls are completely accurate.
As for Liz Truss, no. Just no. Not because I think Conservative party members wouldn’t vote for her, but because I dread to think what it would be like with her in charge.
I say give it to big Sam till the end of the year.
