“Thatcher paved the way for peace in Northern Ireland”. I’ve heard it all now.

  1. well she did sign the Anglo-Irish agreement in 1985 which gave the Irish government an advisory role in Northern Ireland and set out conditions for devolved government. But the northern unionists opposed it (as did nationalists) so the violence did continue the only good thing it did was build better relations with the Irish and British government. History, people etc. aren’t black and white so she probably did more than people arguing on reddit that’s for sure.

I believe this is the article the person was referring to anyway (same headline).

  2. She was an evil bitch.

She did in her fucking arse pave the way.

But a lot of English people hold her in high regard.

  3. There’s a pretty healthy population of English people who patrol reddit as apologists for every wrong England has ever done to the world.

I like to hit them with the Mau Mau genocide and go back from there they have no idea how to handle it, and once I start talking about forced starvation in India all the Indian lads join in and we end up dancing on their broken shitty arguments, its great fun.
