Hello Friends, I need help in identifying this bite. Not sure if this is the right sub, but since it happened in Finland I thought you might know. Kinda worried if it’s a tick. I walked through high grass.

Might well be a tick. Best to show it to a doctor, especially if that red area keeps spreading – then it is definitely a tick. The spreading red ring is a sure sign of borrelia bacteria infection. The sooner, the better – antibiotics work best in the beginning.
A gnat or a mosquito. Pretty sure the tick would still be attached and the bite mark looks nastier.
Ticks generally attach themselves to their foodsource. IIRC the tick should be attached to the skin at least several hours to transmit the borrelia bacteria to human host. So if there’s only bite mark, no tick itself, I’d suggest something else, maybe horse fly.
I think there is a ring associated with a tick, but I’m no expert.
Doc time!
Looks like a horse fly bite. It’s larger than regular mosquito bite and itches more. But just in case keep an eye on if a red ring appears around it. Then it’s a tick bite and you need to see a doctor.
If that red are forms to a circle or keeps spreading please visit your doctor
Mosquito or mäkäräinen
I have exactly same ones after spending time on field and forest. It’s not tick and certainty not dangerous.
Looks like bite of a paarma (flesh eating flying insect) but! you should still show it to doc, especially if it starts spreading like a ring
My strong guess is mäkäräinen. It’s also common to be allergic to them and it can cause small and annoying infection.
That’s just a mosquito bite. If it develops red rings around the general bite area, then it’s a tick.
Draw a outline with a marker so you can see if it’s growing.
This time + Finland = could be a number of different insects like horse fly, blackfly, mosquito of some sort and so on. According to different websites (Duodecim Terveyskirjasto, ECDC etc.) it takes hours or even a full day for the tick to transmit borreliosis to human, and it has to be attached that long. It can of course transmit other diseases like tick-borne encephalitis, but it’s rare. Always ask your doctor instead of Reddit if you’re worried, but to me it looks like any insect bite so can’t really say.
How long has that been there?
It really looks like nothing to worry about to me. Even if it was a tick, you are most likely fine. But it’s a good idea to look up what the rash from Lyme disease looks like; if a rash like that ever appears on your skin, then you need to see a doctor. If you want to track this bump just to be safe, draw the boundaries with a ballpen so you can tell if it keeps spreading.
beautiful country we live in when there’s a single insect bite that can get your ligaments fucked to grave
Could be but you wouldn’t know yet. If the rash expands as a ring and leaves a pale spot in the middle then it’s definitely borrelia but you can only tell when it’s like 10-20cm wide
Just go to the doctor or pharmacy plz
You’re fine. It’s no tick.
If it grows or turns purple go see a doc, if it do not then u should not worry
ebola
Looks like everytime i get bit by mosquito or gaddly
Looks like an Elephant bite but I could be wrong.
Im 99.99% sure its not a tick
Isn’t tick clearly visible until it falls off? Not sure never had a tick.
Hydrocortison 2.5% 3 times a day, if a ring forms then tona doctor.
There is real possibility that it was a tick bite, but impossible to tell so you should start taking notice if the red area expands.
Could be black fly (mäkäräinen) bite, they bite your skin and suck your blood. They inject powerful anticoagulant, which numbs the skin so you wont feel it. Irritation can last weeks. They only fly during the daytime, when mosquitoes tend to fly 24/7
Järvisyyhy. Englantoikaa hänelle. Minä en sitä tee.
If it’s a tic put tooth paste on …it oxygen starves it and it backs out of the skin
