Don’t think the Met said why they dropped it, which is quite normal for them – they really don’t tend to comment much on investigations. I get that victims, the accused, witnesses etc have a right to privacy, but it would be nice if the Met gave a little more detail in their press releases rather than “investigation happened, no further action taken”.
I wouldn’t be surprised if the Met dropped it for the same reason though, as going through with any kind of sex crime report can be extremely tough.
