Right, yet another post about telecom. I know, I know.

I need the internets in my house for purpose of Reddit. I don’t want to go back to Telepret so I’m looking at Orange or Edpnet. Edpnet doesn’t have fiber in my area (booooo!), so I’m stuck with VDSL. Orange has coax.

I do a lot of audiovisual stuff for work and I need a good, stable and fast connection ( who doesn’t ? ), and [no limit](https://youtu.be/r6FVk2k4qsM).

Which one do you prefer?

  1. Have been with edpnet for almost 10 years, stable connection and good speed. Their helpdesk (for the few times I needed them) has always been on point.

Biggest issue for me is that there isn’t that much choice in which modem you use, mostly AVM FRITZ!Box, which are rather on the expensive side.

The fiber part is because they use the Proximus network and depend on them to deliver fiber to your home.

  2. Using edpnet VDSL for multiple years, no complaints (stability or otherwise) except that I should have switched to them sooner. It’s also nice to support smaller companies whenever possible.

  3. Also an EDPNet customer.

I have vdsl (also no fiber available) and during my 1,5y I’m a customer I have never had a problem with my connection. Always a very stable connection with a low ping and good down and upload speeds.

The Fritz!box is also a very nice router where you can make a huge amount of custom changes. Like QoS per device etc… The wifi antenna is fairly decent, much better than from those crappy bbox’s from Proximus.

Edit: almost forgot to mention that I use about 500GB – 1000GB per month of traffic, edpnet is truly unlimited. Orange does have a data cap, also the upload speeds are lower.

  4. Used orange. Had an option for getting 400 mbps on VDSL by paying 15 eur extra. Port opening and forwarding also works. There router is crap so I used my Unifi AP for WLAN. Everything else just worked fine

  5. Edpnet – highly recommend and honestly the only solution when you want to properly work with your own router (at least x years ago).

Plenty fast, all my big files are transferred during night anyway.
