Hello, dear Redditors,

We(me and my fiancé) need your advice.

My fiancé can not stay with me until I have a job with a vast contract for 3 months. Now I get leeflon from OCMW(I’m a refugee)but this September, hopefully, I start an opleiding and next year I will have a job. (I can’t apply for family reunification because we were just good friends when I applied for asylum in 2019.)

In the meantime what are the opportunities to stay legally for 1 year in Belgium for a non-EU citizen with this CV?

We missed each other :'(

Could you please share some opportunities? We looked for master’s studies in KU Leuven but deadlines are passed for 2022-2023 🙁

A bit summary:

30 years old woman

Bachelor’s degree in Pre-school Education

Turkish Native, English C2, Basic Dutch, and German

High social and communicative skills

and mashallah, good cook and driver 🙂

Thanks in advance for your answers

Kind regards

  1. I used to work for the department of immigration in Belgium and just looking through your story and question it doesn’t look good at all. You’d have to get married and get that legalized which is probably the easiest solution.

Companies would have to sponsor a work permit which they will only do for extremely specific profiles that are otherwise not available in Belgium/the EU.
