Steve Barclay appointed as health secretary after Sajid Javid’s resignation

  1. The man who said Keir failed to prosecute Jimmy Savile, which in turn led to Barclay’s own staff resigning on him.

Him and Boris are two peas in a pod.

  2. Perfect appointment. This guy wanted to remove the regulations on bankers bonuses recently, so I’m sure he’ll be fantastic in the role of guiding the NHS

  3. From the Guardian a couple of years ago….

“With Steve Barclay, the prime minister has struck gold. A man bright enough to know he’s irrelevant, but too stupid to realise that might be a drawback.”

  4. I’m genuinely amazed people in here think BoJo is going to resign. To resign he’d have to have a shred of decency remaining which he clearly doesn’t.

  5. I’m sad for long coviders and ME/CFS patients because Javid was actually starting to change the treatment of them, and now we have this guy who seems to think that disabled are useless slackers… (although to be fair Javid voted similarly and only recently seemed to care about the subject).

  6. I’m convinced at this point the only way we’d actually get rid of boris would be if someone shot him. And I’m convinced we’re getting closer to that taking place every day.
