“Underage unaccompanied immigrants” wreak havoc in Paphos

  1. Why? What’s the context for this? Was it random? Political? Revenge? Internet points? Etc…

  2. Humans aren’t animals. Giving them a place to stay and food isn’t enough. The Social Security of the state needs to provide them education, teach them greek give them something to do.

The mayor of Paphos isn’t wrong, they can’t dumo people in a hotel and say problem solved.

As for their age, you don’t know if they are lying about being underage.

  3. People tend to behave this way due to their shitty socioeconomic situation. This is not an ethnicity issue, nor a biology thingy.
The solution? Help uplift these people from their poorer material conditions. Use the money coming from the EU efficiently and towards funding programs of social inclusion, become more efficient in the asylum seeker/refugee status checks, and in general act as a normal country. We can also start discussing about opening more checkpoints along the green line. In that way we (RoC) will have more control on who crosses the buffer zone and we will be able to help those people as well.

Ah, and we cannot just throw people back to the sea. We signed EU and international agreements on that so it’s illegal. It’s also immoral af but who cares, right?

Thanks for coming to my TED talk.
