Breed was an American Bully XL. Basically a pit bull variant. Waiting for the defenders now to come out and say “it’s not the dog, it’s the owner/way they were brought up” …. Badly trained dogs and dangerous breeds are a public nuisance and menace and need to be brought under control urgently.
Saw one of these in the park yesterday, guy had it on a massive long lead, probably 30 feet in length, I dragged my little dog to the other side of the field, wouldn’t trust the poxy things and especially on a lead which could snap in a heartbeat.
They should be banned, there’s no reason whatsoever to have one of tHose over another breed, I never get why people want to own a dog which could rip your throat out as look at you.

The owners half the time also somehow manage to seem offended that you would get alarmed at their dogs acting so aggressive, absolute bellends some of them.
I was recently at the back of a bus when a woman in a wheelchair got on with one of these… it had shoulders like an old bodybuilder. I had to pass it to get off the bus and it lunged at my Morrison’s bag with sausages in, my soul left my body, they are fucking huge
That’s crazy how a breed bred for violence is more likely to be violent and maul or kill someone, never mind the number of cats and dogs they maul or kill too.
Who could have possibly seen that these things would behave in such a way. Shocking.
There needs to be restrictions on who can buy dogs, who can sell dogs, and who can breed dogs.

Remember once on holiday me, my brothers and my dad walking through camp site with our jack Russel. Foreign family (Turkish I believe not 100%) had extendable lead on there small staff, stood on the lead, it kept lunging forwards. Got about 50 yards past the family *POP* turn round to see that dog charging at us all. Dads swung his lead to pick up our jack Russel, dogs jumping up trying to bite our dog and almost got a good grip on my dads arm, my older brother kicked the staff so hard it did a flip and whimpered back. That family came over to us screeching n shouting like we were in the wrong???
I’m so fed up of shitty dog owners, so many people have dogs now and are just fucking lazy with them. So many times out walking with the kids and some stupid dog come running up and jumping on them, no aggressively but when you’re 4 and a dog jumps on you it doesn’t matter if its friendly that’s still scary and their claws are sharp and they scratch. And the owners are all “ohh he’s friendly don’t worry” no, get your fucking dog under control!
Or they’re constantly barking and going nuts at each other and the poo all over the streets.
Imo dogs should always be on a lead in public. And not those stupid extendable ones that give no control either.
There’s an old woman on our street with this horrible shit of a schnauzer that goes nuts whenever you walk past it and she does fucking nothing to control it. It bit me last winter, luckily I was wearing tall boots and it went for me not my kids.

Certain breeds shouldnt be allowed end of. When i see them out i take my dog the other way as most the owners look like they’re struggling to hold the lead.
Socialising and taking your dog to a basic ass class should be a requirement. If you cant afford to take your dog to standard training or have the time to, you shouldnt own a dog. Ive seen multiple breeds get agitated from the smallest thing and its horrendous how people just laugh it off.

It snarls and barks whenever we open our back door and I have told my neighbour in no uncertain terms that if said hairball ever escapes I will kick it ad hard as I can. My mother was nearly killed by a gs as a child I wont take that risk with my siblings

The problem is that people are allowed to keep dangerous animals for frivolous reasons. Dangerous dogs don’t belong in social settings at the hand of non-professional caretakers. Aggressive and large dogs should be banned as pets the same way as pythons or tigers are.

Although each one is a tragedy, dog deaths in the UK, are very, very rare, fortunately. It’s one of the reasons they are reported widely. Some breeds do seem to dominate the lists though.
To put it into context, around 1,000 people die each year falling down stairs. That’s not to make light of the dog deaths – just saying that we can never eliminate all risk from life.

It’s been confirmed now it was an xl bully. I love dogs but that breed needs banning. A large number of attacks and kills have been that breed. They’re clearly dangerous and should be banned as people obviously are not training them properly. If you want a dog why get a breed that’s got a history like that? It’s because they want to look tough. If you wanted a pet why wouldn’t you get something like a lab or any other breed
