Taiwan, Europe must defend democracy together, president says

  1. Even Europe is not a full democracy, the president of the commission is not elected by the citizens.

  2. How is Taiwan helping us defend democracy? They made some shady deals with the US and now they want us to do the dirty clean up work, no thanx.

  3. “We must defend democracy together” here means “Europe must defend us”. And they are barking up the wrong tree, Europe already has a similar arrangement with the USA.

  4. How about you guys finish protecting Afghanistan’s democracy before extending your glorious crusade to Taiwan?

Oh, wait, you were just defeated by a bunch of barely medieval goat farmers in Afghanistan and six months later you think you’re ready for a war directly with a superpower that can target every single bit of infrastructure anywhere on the globe? Think about your own country’s burning fuel terminals, the fried electricity grid, the smoking holes where the power plants were, the collapsed bridges and the twisted rail lines – that’ll be the first wave of missiles responding to your attack.

  5. Well I sure do hope that the traffic light coalition over here in germany changes their stance on china. And if they should, I wonder how far they actually go. Merkel’s program was basically stay quiet with occasional condemnations, to not endanger economic relations at all.

  6. Europe is afraid of it’s own shadow unfortunately, literally nobody in eu government has balls. They don’t want and they can’t protect anyone including themselves. They have ridiculous 6k troops when russia gathered on Ukraine’s border more than 100k troops

  7. Finally I understand what the title actually means

    > Taiwan, *Lithuania must defend democracy together, president says

  8. Ma man compared Belarus to PCR. I’m sorry but refusing to let a couple thousand defenseless people into your country is not the same as having literal nuclear bombers fly over your cities. Poor fucks; to fade away from a fascist dictatorship only to have the Chinese empire breathing on your neck…
