It was a fantastic debate. made me very hopeful that we’re going to see some change.
The representatives on the decriminalisation side were excellent and an embarrassing showing by the Cannabis Risk Alliance.
Dr Garrett McGovern and Brendan from Crainn stole the show in my opinion. Lucky to have people like them
Small personal amounts and personal amount of plants (2 or 3) growing at any one time should stay out of the legal system.
Decriminalization is for when the most important thing in the world is the war on drugs and funding armed criminal gangs like the UDA and UVF.
The government hears ya, the government doesn’t give a fuck
>However, a group of doctors concerned about the adverse effects of cannabis cautioned against decriminalisation.
Ya mean the reefer madness crew. If I had the money I’d bring them on the radio and hit them with all the data from the Netherlands and eventually expose them as shills, or maybe just idiots.
>Some committee members, including Fine Gael Senator Barry Ward and Sinn Féin TD Martin Kenny, expressed concern that decriminalising cannabis and/or drugs might benefit organised criminal gangs.
Sorry but I think they might be right, we need to regulate this stuff , tax it, the idea of criminals having supply sounds like you’re feeding the public poisonous goods sprinkled in god knows what. I’d also worry about the medical cannabis side of things, they cannot be exposed to inferior products.
Watch Frank Feighan disregard this like everything else he’s been told.
This is a bullshit half measure. We should fully decriminalize use and provide for legal cultivation of cannabis and production of MDMA and cocaine. Give heroin to addicts. I have no plan for cocaine but i recon we can work it out.
I used to be so liberal and then the internet… It changed me
