Futbol Club Barcelona, commonly referred to as Barcelona and colloquially known as Barça, is a professional football club based in Barcelona, Spain, that competes in La Liga, the top flight of Spanish football.
Founded in 1899 by a group of Swiss, Spanish, German and English footballers led by Joan Gamper, the club has become a symbol of Catalan culture and Catalanism, hence the motto “Més que un club” (“More than a club”).
Unlike many other football clubs, the supporters own and operate Barcelona. It is the fourth-most valuable sports team in the world, worth $4.06 billion.
The official Barcelona anthem is the “Cant del Barça”, written by Jaume Picas and Josep Maria Espinàs. Barcelona traditionally play in dark shades of blue and red stripes, leading to the nickname Blaugrana.
1-2-2 years old, small line-up.
Why do you say Catalan and Spanish if they are the same?
Hala Madrid!
I think the most intresting historical era of this club comes from the times under Franco’s dictatorship. Franco was not football fan but like other dictators (Hitler and Mussolini) he saw football as a great tool to control masses. So he selected Real Madrid as his team. Opposing Franco’s regime openly was not possible but through football was not only important to Barcelona but also for many other teams in Spain. Still today “el classico” the game Real Madrid – FC Barcelona has big symbolic meaning.
There is intresting documentary by BBC on Fascism and Football https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x275qhq (part about Franco starts in 38 minutes mark)

Catalan, Spanish and Englishmen?
You mean 6 Spanish, 3 Swiss, two englishman and a German, or Spanish, Swiss, Englishman and German.
Why remove the Swiss and the German just to add a Catalan? Wont you name the region where other the 5 Spanish were born?
