We used to wear berets in the army and I always wondered why. I mean, it doesn’t warm you, it provides no protection from rain, it’s difficult to wear, and 50% of people look stupid with it. We had a troop photo taken and half of the guys look like they are wearing a chefs hat. At least it should be that proper original French wool cap. Maybe with fancy mustache.
