Good news for Guadeloupeens, should alleviate some of the problems they’ve been facing and might calm down the riots especially combined with the extra time to vaccinate their medical staff.
It’s unfortunate that when this pesticide was banned In France, the local autorities requested extra time to phase it out on the grounds that it would be discriminatory to expect Guadeloupe to be able to make the environmental changes as quickly as the metropole. You’ve got to wonder how many people became ill because of this delay.
they didn’t “use a banned pesticide”; rather they were encouraged to use that pesticide, even though it should instead have been banned (and has since been)
