In a few minutes the Russian TV Rain (Dožd) channel will re-start live [broadcasts](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kk6kbL5P8XU) from Riga, in [cooperation](https://zinas.tv3.lv/latvija/sabiedriba/tv-kanals-dozdj-atsak-darbibu-riga-sadarbiba-ar-tv3/) with TV3. It is an independent, opposition, anti-Putin, anti-war media that was pushed out of Russia in March. Thank you, Latvia, for giving these exiles a home.

Yap, saw the announcement in news. Cool that we can at least somehow help the last remaining independant Russian media outlets. No doubts that tomorrow we will see another wave of anti-latvian propoganda in Russian state media about this, though.
Yea, they moved here, because they can live here like in russia. At least inform local russians and make them support Ukraine, but also be latvian media if you are here.
Not sure how I feel about this. Even though they are independent they can quickly become dependent and destabilise the country…
Not a single person from their team will even try to learn Latvian, which I think is sad.
Will probably just talk about “not all russians”. You let “these exiles” in and give them shelter, and the next day they will tell you how to live, how they’re discriminated and what you owe them.
You scratch a russian liberal a tiny bit and find a russian imperialist, who is happy with what Putin is doing, just unhappy with the methods he chose. Meduza mentioned above is a great example.
