The Tory candidates opinions and ultimately their sales pitch only apply to a very tiny minority of Tory members – about 180k I think?
The rest of us 67million just have to go along with who ever gets voted in behind closed doors.
My objection is that by sticking them all on the news / giving them any sort of air time it’s trying to allude to this process being some sort of national democratic event rather than an internal election that’s applicable to a few party members.
I guess the next few months are going to be the perfect time to hide the full extent of Johnson’s economic failures whilst we all get wound up by a media frenzy about an event that only concerns us in it’s execution.
Truss is part of the Cabinet that agreed the tax hikes. Sunak hasn’t the power to makes such decisions on his own.
