Keir Starmer scraps pledge to end NHS private sector outsourcing

  1. Why shouldn’t the NHS outsource services? It does not mean that healthcare cannot be free at the point of delivery. Gp surgeries are small businesses, do people want to bring all GPs back into the NHS? What about fleet management? Logistics?

  2. It depends what the outsourcing is. Outsourcing is necessary, almost every company needs to outsource. The NHS doesn’t have the expertise to run its own IT systems for example. Nor should it, really. It’s a health service.

The trouble is neither government or the NHS have experts with free reign to implement the needed systems and services who can just tell ministers and jobsworths to get lost. It’s a problem across government in every area.

  3. This seems to me like labour shooting themselves in the leg. “We’ve already got the votes of everyone who’s unhappy with the Tories so it doesn’t matte what we say. Let’s try and get the conservative voters aswell! Oh shit now neither are gonna vote for us”.

  4. Like so many lefties, I fundamentally disagree with the concept of for-profit healthcare provision, so I find this 180 very disappointing. I guess I’ll have to hold my nose to prevent the gagging when I next vote for these pricks. God, I hate FPTP.

  5. No surprise he is following new Labour policy to gain power and them good old corporate bribes fucking slimey cunt.

This country no longer has a party to represent workers its a disgrace to Labours history.

  6. Gandhi said when going against the establishment, this. First they will ignore you. Then they will ridicule. Then they will fight you. If still you stand they will try to make you them…. That was Blair and it is Starmer.. The illusions of choice vs the delusions of difference.

  7. Yet, the sort of Labour party voters want! One that pretends to not be c***** whilst gearing all policies towards the upper class d that control the main media outlets.

It’s guaranteed he gets on power based on that, the only thing that’s left to be seen is whether he’s towing the line enough to get in but actually a decent human being, or just more rebadged excrement.

  8. He has to say this – what is he going to do – Nationalise all GP practises? Christ, what a meaningless attack. At least he is being truthful.

  9. We are once again faced with the exciting reality of electing either class traitors or national traitors.

I look forward to the carnage!

  10. It’s essentially impossible to end that. So many resources in the NHS need to be supplied privately. You can’t bring everything in house. That being said, the health service should privatise. We don’t have the political willpower to fund it anymore.

  11. Oh yeah cause that’ll make the NHS better, it’s not fit for purpose. To many admins/consultants. Scrap it and start again if you want Universal Health Care.
