Polish left Razem (Together) Party suggest that Germany should lease their nuclear power plants to Poland if it doesn’t want to use them

**Germany pussyfoots about the nuclear issue? Surprising proposal from the Razem party**
**Closing nuclear power plants is a climate crime. Since Germany does not want to use them, it should lease them to Poland, propose politicians from the Razem party in response to reports that the German government has been misleading its citizens about nuclear power plants.**
As Energetyka24 wrote last weekend, the German government misled its citizens by suggesting that the operation of nuclear power plants in Germany could not be extended due to difficulties in fuel supply. All the indications are, as the website notes, that our western neighbours wanted to shut down the nuclear power plants at all costs, despite clear indications from industry that the units could be guaranteed to continue operating.
These reports were met with a reaction from the Razem party. – Today, shocking information has reached us in Berlin. It turns out that the decision to replace nuclear power plants with coal plants – this is what our neighbours are doing in practice – was justified by false data. The power plants could have gone on – to the benefit of Europe’s security and the climate,” wrote Adrian Zandberg, one of the formation’s leaders, on Twitter.
Zandberg stressed that “this is not an internal German affair”. – In energy we are in the same boat. The EU has set common climate targets. Germany’s decision to switch from nuclear to coal goes against them. Our continent is in for a hard winter. Putin will take care of that. If the energy system of any EU country is shaken, the costs will be borne by all of us,” added Zandberg.
**Poland should lease German power plants?**
The Razem party politician stressed that this issue should be raised by Poland at the EU summit. In turn, Razem MP Paulina Matysiak proposed that Poland should lease German power plants. – Closing nuclear power plants is a crime against the climate. In my opinion, since Germany does not want to use them, it should lease them to Poland,” Matysiak wrote on Twitter.

Our western neighbours’ plans call for the last three nuclear power plants operating in Germany to close at the end of 2022.
that doesnt even make any sense lmao
You know, Razem are weird woke far-leftists, but when it comes to Russia and nuclear, they have been saner than most.
>Zandberg stressed that “this is not an internal German affair”. – In energy we are in the same boat.
From probably the only major country in the EU with an even worse CO2 footprint for their electricity. For them Europe was not in the same boat when they kept all of their coal power plants open, but suddenly when its about shitting on Germany, coal power plants in Germany are bad and coal power plants in Poland are of course CO2 neutral.
>Closing nuclear power plants is a crime against the climate
Hhahaahaha. At least the french have earned their right to be smug about it by producing low CO2 electricity for the last decades. The climate seems to only be important when it is about coal power plants anywhere other than the ones in Poland it seems.
If Poland commits to taking all of the nuclear waste, store it as far east as possible and Germany can build the nuclear power plants right at the border, I am very much in favor of this proposal!
this is just meant to provoke
kind of Trump-like rethoric
This is fine. Razem has some weird nanny state tendencies (they were the only party to vote for PiS’ increase in the excise tax on alcohol, which might have sank their Nowy Ład program), but they’re right on nuclear. Poland doesn’t need more dirtyass coal.
I’m amazed how polish politicians are able to come up with even dumber shit every week
Yes, that‘s the correct idea. We lease them to Poland and re-import part of the energy they generate. This also sounds like a good tax evasion scheme.
