All that lovely glass, to make the temperature go up, that’s just great in these times of increased heat extremes. No opening windows of course, so has to rely on permanent running air conditioning. Why are we still building this kind of environmentally unfriendly structure?
The PlayStation 6 out already.
Where is this?
As a crane enthusiast I couldn’t agree more, I sure do miss the Celtic tiger.
It’s mad to consider that New York was building up 17 floor skyscrapers as far back as the 1890s. The tallest building in Dublin today is 23 floors.
Why do people think that the housing crisis only effects Dublin 😂
Which LEGO set is this?
It’s all fun and games until…. You live on the top floor, the lift fails and you have the munchies with nothing in the flat!
Every city in Ireland needs
We need tonnes of them, a good 30-40 storeys high, just blitz the place with 10,000 apartments
Fuck the skyline, could you imagine the view of Dublin you’d get from a building like this? Also the spire is massive and does fucking nothing.
Ballymun 2
Look very similar too grenfell tower no thanks
This is exactly what Dublin needs
It’s all about perspective, looking at the kip it’s become at a different angle 😄
Irish people have a habit falling off balconies during parties. In the ensuing public outrage everyone but the dead drunk will be at fault.
Dublin is just Pyongyang in north Korea
To be honest, not *really* – skyscrapers are typically inefficient to build because the height poses challenges that make it more expensive. As a result, they’re usually just filled up with luxury housing and office space since that’s needed to make up for the price of construction. I think what would make more sense to build would be large multi-story apartment blocks. They’re usually also nicer to live in. I used to live in [this 4-5 story block](https://cloud.funda.nl/valentina_media/153/200/009_720x480.jpg) that took up a whole street with a nice yard on the inside, and I loved it – it had some 100+ apartments in it ranging from small studios to family apartments, and people tended to come together in the centre, hang out together, etc.
No, we just need continental densities but throughout the city. But we still don’t seem to have grasped that.
Off topic a little, but I reckon that any big companies who want to build up, should be making a contribution to the local fire brigades for ladder extension improvements as part of the deal.
Fill that roof with small wind turbines
Not more dirty green water
Damn… we really do nothing else here but shit on other peoples solutions
As a spark, this is great! Keep the work coming. It’s a great time to be in the trade industry in Dublin.
Barf, no thanks.

I was in smithfields today and was impressed. More of that please with the big open squares, cafes and shops and apartments and then family houses.

Where’s the White Water Rafting? >!/s!<
This sub has an strange hard-on with wanting Dublin to look like Dubai. What you don’t see behind Dubai’s showy skyline is the many square km of Los-Angeles style urban sprawl,. You can still achieve a higher population density by building more apartments of a moderate number of stories. There are just six buildings of over 20 storeys in all of Greece, yet they manage to have some of the densest populated cities in Europe.

I got randomly reading the wikipedia entry about [Early skyscrapers](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Early_skyscrapers) a few weeks back.
