It’s better to be a tourist than to live here.

  1. All depends on how much you make, really. For most people that image is probably true.

  2. Explain, because I might want to go to Poland to live there.

  3. Living in Poland can be great. Especially if you have a skill of maneuvering around obstacles (kombinować).

  4. I live here and quite like it. Łódź is a lovely city and quite convenient to navigate.

  5. If you make 5K pln outside big cities(to 100K) = happy ;
    If you make 5K pln In Big Cities (from 100K) = eh ;
    If you make below 5K pln outside cities = eh ;
    If you make below 5K pln in Big City = Doomed ;
    If you make below 2.5K pln = Ticket to 🇳🇱/🇩🇪/🇦🇹/🇳🇴/🇸🇪

  6. It’s ALWAYS better being a tourist than living somewhere. Everywhere. You don’t have responsibilities while being a tourist. It’s what people do when they are not working where they live. Therefore that picture is completely nonsensical.

  7. Lived here since 2005, naturalised as a citizen in 2014. Still love it.

  8. I disagree 🙂 Grass is always greener on the other side.

  9. Can confirm. As someone who used to visit Poland frequently that’s precisely how it felt.

  10. I feel quite weird as someone that love Poland. I travel a lot and I’m always happy to be back. But hey, I get it, it’s probably “cool” or “popular” among certain groups of people to complain and say it’s like living in hell. Have a good day everone.

  11. bruh i came from kazakhstan and goddamn i love this country
    (except the fucking weather and day cycle)

  12. Actually I’m from Ukraine, but it seems to me that now there are big contrasts everywhere. It all depends on a specific place (district, street), on your work and people around you. Probably you shouldn’t be too categorical I guess, cause even in the U.S we can see a lot of cool places, and also some “holes”. Someone is comfortable with a simpler life, while others move to more expensive places. Today I see this trend all over the world, but this is my personal opinion.

  13. as someone who is living in Ireland and tomorrow is going to visit Poland I cannot disagree…Poland is great if You earn enough money somewhere else and You have a peace of mind that You are not condemned to be living in Poland

  14. Context (should be posted earlier)

    Guys, it’s just a meme. I love this country but the people are shit here. The democracy as you think should look is no more as people were bribed with their own money.

    The problem with socialist policies (yes – handouts like 500+ is redistribution of resources by the general definition of socialism – a.k.a money is a resource) is that people want them. And are easy to convince instead of aiming for policies that make your work more valuable.

    The second hand of the problems here includes foreign conglomerates like American Trust Funds. Most of the biggest companies like Auchan or Biedronka are owned by foreigners (yes, biedronka is Portugal).

    This combined with over red-taped tax law (I’m serious 700 pages of tax reforms!? DID ANYONE READ IT!?), an unfriendly environment for making money by having a company (heard enough stories from friends who used to or still have a business) and the fact that tax office assumes you are a criminal before you will file a tax form (although I got lucky with treatment that was friendly last time I filed tax forms) makes this miserable.

    Combine this with high inflation, mismanagement of public money by the current government (handouts should go for retraining programs not cash for kids – as a country, we can’t afford it) it makes it hard to carry that weight, and not to mention the history.

    Knowing that this land is basically cursed with warfare you do not want to live here. I do not want to see a German or Russian tank barrel aiming in my face if you get what I mean.

    Once more – I love this country but the people could be better.

  15. Grass is always greener but until you go somewhere else you won’t know if its better or worst. I hear alot of Poles complaining about Poland so I’ve set out to live there and make my own opinion. So far so good living a life on a Zloty salary I could not live back in the States… I get more then double the PTO unlimited sick… still waiting for the negatives

    My theory is most of those that complain are usually the ones that are more blue collar but thats just been my limited experience so far.

  16. If you think like that then move somewhere else, I love living in PL

  17. Lol. That’s my buddy who moved to Canada because he saw promos, and ended up living in a basement in GTA for 5 years. The only mountains he saw were the piles of snow and dirt on the parking lots.

  18. Yeah, if you are not interested in polish politics and economy it looks great, but if you start digging more and more then more shit you will see under nice country.

  19. Well compared to Turkey I would kill to live in Poland.

  20. I think otherwise, I prefer live in Poland e visit the rest

  21. Y’all need to shut the fuck up restating the “gRaSS iS aLwaYs GrEener”. Give some real, intelligible details or stfu.

  22. Yes. The ministry of sound in Poland is not a band. Gonna need 900 stamps to put in a car radio.

  23. Yes yes and again yes, i plan to run away from this place. But beeing a tourist isn’t so bad I guess. We have some pretty things here

  24. I love living next to a factory in poland gonna get cancer lol

  25. I left 16 years ago. You say there’s nothing to come back to?
