Those cashless AIB branches are useless, as someone who has to regularly lodge cash it’s a pain in the ass, being able to do it in the PO is ok but it was easier and quicker to use the machine in the bank.
Limited to five grand a week cash lodgements in the PO.
Must be loads of self employed, shop keepers,Barbers ,Hairdressers etc that would have a lot of cash.
They’re even getting rid of the ATMs outside…that’s kinda mad imo.
What is their operating model? To offer the absolute minimum in services to their customers and wait for the competition to copy them.
Is there something wrong with just having the 1-2 machines in the corner doing all the work?
Are they broke and expecting a bank run?
A cashless society will turn into a Chinese social points program in seconds, with a major difference, you need to spend your social points to live.
I’ve to move bank and was leaning towards AIB over BOI, honestly both just seem shite. Never had an issue with Ulster Bank in 15 years.
Making it very easy to switch to Revolut, Bunq, N26 or one of the other fintech companies.
Great my town of 20k+, will have no atm’s
Explain to me why no bank has a machine to count and lodge coins? It’s the one thing that would be an improvement
Great…my two local AIB branches are going cashless…right after I moved from Ulster Bank. Banking is not going my way…lol
And AIB customers quarterly fees will also fall due to a reduction in the provision of these services right? Right?
Can we call this move part of this NWO and Great Reset?
Feel free to debate and share other beliefs on where this will go.
Cash is expensive & vulnerable to theft – cashless society can’t be far away- cash also is the life blood of crime in many instances
Now they will be closing seventy branches. Brilliant strategy!
The ONLY advantage AIB have over N26 is their bricks and mortar presence. I encourage all to give AIB the middle finger as I did a couple of years back. Don’t miss them at all.
Soooo now we really do go towards Revolut/N26/BunQ?
It’s always the first startup to go cashless on the road to total closure of the branches.
My branch is going cashless despite it always having a queue and always people using the ATM outside. There are now zero ATMs outside in my town so if it’s after office hours good luck to us.
