My name is Brian: the prisoner whose treatment put Switzerland on trial

  1. Awful to see that he wasn’t able to get any of the ADHD and educational support he was owed when a kid.

I found people couldn’t be quick enough to push me through that whole system. That shouldn’t be something I got but not others.

Similarly withdrawal of support from a working intervention because of a politicised documentary is ridiculous.

  2. He got so many second chances and threw them away every time.
Forget the sondersettings, lock him up and throw away the key.

  3. Sounds like they went to extremes with this guy. Making him sleep on the floor, only letting him wear a poncho… and then spending a fortune on his apartment and tutoring and boxing lessons.

What about normal prison and halfway houses?

Also, I can see the idea that finding a sport can maybe let him use up some aggressive energy… but I am not sure teaching violent people to be better boxers is such a good idea… why not tennis or rock climbing or something

  4. This guy got so many chances, so much support from various groups, advocates and special treatment, and still managed to systematically screw everything up. At some point you *will* get harsh treatment. Enough is enough. Traumatized by isolation and systematic racism? The UN and all those writers who like to turn perpetrators into victims and vice versa can buzz right off. He does not deserve this megaphone.

This culture of seeking fault with anybody except the people who actually break the laws, repeatedly, is insane.

  5. OP, I don’t know if you found him through TikTok when he had smuggled a phone in prison, went sweet on him and have now the girlfriend and the bad boy syndrom “I can fix him!” But he had his chances and no amount of ADHD can explain how he ended up in this mess.

Edit: and may I add no amount of racism either could defend his case, it’s an individual case here, no one here blames his skin color.

  6. At least they stopped calling him „Carlos“. Misleading he was Spanish or Latino. Why didn’t they call him Urs, Kevin, Jason or Ryan?

  7. Brian seems to me the kind of person who will always hold others responsible for his own actions. Hell, yeah put Switzerland to trial so it will become official how many special settings and treatments for ADHD he abused over many years. And please, let’s not forget the victims of his criminal past.

  8. Yeah, this guy. He’s in Swiss newspapers every other month. He blew every chance he got.

There was an interview in Swiss television with him.
Where he states that he’s perfect doesn’t need to change one bit, and he never made a mistake in his life whatsoever.
    So that’s that.

  9. These UN torture experts are getting fooled by this guy. Brian managed to get ahold of a prison guards private number (while he was in prison) and there, he called him and threatened him and his family. This lowlife will never change.

  10. Dont support this Guy he is a really POS. He had so many chances and every time he piss on it. The only solution that worked has cost more than 22 000.- per month and after a shitstorm of the public the setting was ended.

  11. Wow the Story and the comments Show what is completely wrong with this Story and why it’s shame to Switzerland.

First of all none of all this should have been in the media there is no legal base why Blick at this time should have this informations and publish them.
Some political warfare was played on the back of a mental ill person, because that’s what Brian is.

His Story is basicly hearthbreaking and shows what neglect of a father can do to a person.

Yes Brian is probably not much participating in a good way but so are those that made his story public and express their hate in public against him.

  12. This thread is in dire need of some moderation. The racism, whataboutism and acceptance of torture in this thread by some redditors here is frankly not only disappointing, but also shows how much racism there still is in our society.
