  1. Now all seven parties of the coalition will claim victory and pretend they got what they wanted. Until the first questions are raised in interviews and we’ll see the all have a completely different interpretation of what they agreed on

  2. This is no longer all the parties putting water in the wine, this is politicians pissing in our cups and calling it water.

  3. This gov once again spending money it doesnt have so someone else will have to pay for it , no surprise there. Cant wait until they call themselves courages in interviews.

  4. And what is it going to do with the budget?

So all the boomers get a pass? Only for people younger than 5 fucking 3.

  5. Am I understanding correctly that (currently younger) people that will have contributed to pensions through their social security tax for almost 2 decades but not quite, will not get anything?

  6. “Je zal binnenkort minstens 20 jaar effectief gewerkt moeten hebben om recht te hebben op een deel van het minimumpensioen…”

    “Een deel van het minimumpension…”

I hope that is a typo.

This is ridiculous, we should be working less, not more!

  7. What about people who worked in multiple countries during their careers? I worked 3 years with a Dutch contract, do these count for my 20 years having “effectively worked”?

  9. Honestly at this point I’d rather see a dutch style pension system. I’ll save for my own retirement rather than putting money in this ponzi fraud.

  10. So if I understand correctly I can work till I am 40 – 45 years, so I have worked my 20 years, and I’ll probably get 600-700 euros for the rest of my life?
Not bad, or is there a minimum age I need to reach too?

Mooi.

Edit: If it sounds too good to be true…

  12. On a side note, who predicted BDW pointing @ PS?
    *raises hand

The boomers rule the world 😉

  13. So if I read it correctly anyone over 60 will get the full ‘minimumpensioen’ in 2024? Regardless of how many years they have worked?

Downvote for a question? Jesus Christ

  14. Guys, worry not. In 20 years it’s the zoomers that are in power and then we make the next generation pay for it xD
*On one side, it’s meant jokingly but it probably will happen

  15. I can’t go to work because i am sick and play playstation all day to break silly best times. Can i still have minimum pension?

  17. OK. Can someone please ELI5 this for me?

Let’s say I am 35 and have been working for 12 years.
Can I retire with a minimum pension when I’m 43? Should I drop my work rhythm to allow for more time with my kids now and then stop when I’m 50? Can I stop and then work while retired to earn some more?

Is there some kind of simulator that I can use to optimise the shit out of this “eureka”-akkoord or should I just blindly continue working 50 hours a week and pay (way) more then half in taxes and social security for something I might or might not get when I’m 67. (That would be 22 instead of 8 additional years of work.)

Genuinely not complaining, but I’d like to make a reasoned evaluation…

  18. And then they wonder why people aren’t having children and are moving to other countries… What a joke. And ofcourse we Belgian people are just complaining, without trying to do anything about it…

Combine this with rising cost of living & inflation, near stagnant wages and lack of help for people who want to change up their careers.

Belgium’s going down the drain, and it’s people along for the ride

  19. Serious question, because I’m a bit lost.

Will there still be a minimum age when one can transition into pension? Articles I can find always speak of those 20 years or 5000 work days. Looking at the number of days I work on average in a year (working full time), 23 years seems to be more realistic, taking into account a reasonable amount of sick days.

If all we need to take into account are the 5000 days, I would be eligible for minimum pension at age 45. Hell, throw in some extra sick days and make it 47.

I’m assuming I won’t be eligible for pension at that age though?

Also what about those “extra €3 per day” for added pension? Does that clock start counting immediately after the 5000 days are reached? or does it start only when you have reached a certain age?

If so, **what is that age**?

  20. How will that translate for example if you work 3/5th? Would that mean that it you work 3/5th for 28 years you’ll also get the minimumpensioen (as that equals 20 years of effectief werken, i also saw 5000 days mentioned instead of 20 years)?
