This is a weird question but would anyone know where to find pedestrian hole/trench covers [similar to these](https://www.theworkplacedepot.co.uk/pedestrian-hole-cover) for rent preferably around Jutland or better yet the area around Vejle? We need to do some renovations in the house and were hoping to place some on top of the wooden beams (see [here](https://imagizer.imageshack.com/img922/857/A6qB1U.jpg)) to serve as safe footing. I suppose some sort of scaffolding material would also do the trick but I don’t think it needs to be large-scale

  1. As a Carpenter, when i have to work on similar constructions, i use “krydsfiner” – 18mm atleast. Give it a couple of screws in each Beam and your good to go.

  2. Is this for indoor use? That particular product is not super common here. For outdoors use it’s most often 20mm steel plate.

There’s also a plastic version of those: [https://maskinbutikken.dk/collection/plastkoereplader](https://maskinbutikken.dk/collection/plastkoereplader) but they’re pretty floppy and mainly used temporarily for lawns and such.

Seconding getting some plywood or OSB, perhaps used, and just use that.

  3. I have been to many construction sites, and I have only ever seen that such platforms were built from wood. Either just plywood, or a few two by fours and then plywood on top.

In fact we also often use plywood to cover manholes 🙂

I havent seen the product you linked. It does not look very stiff… ? And not stiff enough for the job, but I could be wrong.

But the closest I know of are “køreplader”. You could also try and search for that. But they are not very stiff.

  4. Fun fact of the day. In norway they still today use metalplates made from the (sunk & recovered) german battleship Tirpitz when they need for roadworks
