The embassy of Pakistan in Dublin has a list of dos and don’ts for the host country(Ireland) which include ‘Do not mention leprechauns,’ and ‘Do not call Dublin small in front of locals.’

  1. do not worry about safety in ireland.

we actually have it grand lads apart from the pack of wankers running the country and being poor

  2. The leprechaun museum won’t be happy they’re scaring off business!

PS. The leprechaun museum is actually good craic.

  3. “Do not call Dublin small in front of locals”…. But it is small? I’m a dub and I say it’s too small all the time

  4. One thing I do like from that list is encouraging immigrants to mix with us by joining sports clubs and local groups, to be fair it’s much more common than it used to be but good to see that it’s actively promoted by the embassy.

  5. This could also be called “Dos and Don’ts when on r/ireland”, especially don’t mention the British Isles

  6. Nice list! Fair play to them.

I particularly like all the prompts to get involved in the community and with sports clubs.

  7. This is honestly a great panel of advice for anyone coming to Ireland. Or going anywhere. A real focus on community activities etc.

  8. >Do engage with School Committees for better education / grooming of your children

seems they’re well-informed on what goes on in our church-run schools anyways

  9. They didn’t mention don’t mention all the rain! I literally offended An older woman once when I was visiting. It was not meant to be derogatory at all but she had some nasty words for me.

  10. Good lost tbf.

But you just know some nutter is gonna see the words “grooming of your children” in there and go off on one…

  11. Don’t be offended by banter… Best advice but they should add that it is expected that you return the banter.

  12. “be extra careful when interacting with minors in the streets”…. The Rochdale grooming gang missed that part…
