Sir Patrick Vallance warns MPs that the world is about to be plunged into even deeper crisis than it was during the Covid pandemic – because of climate change

  1. Poor Vallance. Falling on deaf ears. It’s a shame people like him aren’t really in charge. Any climate “minister” should be a fucking scientist not a politician.

I think it’s time to accept that it’s over for humanity. Most likely the next 50 years will be a gradual collapse into turmoil. Was going to have kids but me and gf decided against it after seeing how bad things are getting, even just economically (it’ll never really recover). It’s not something people want to here, but IMO it’s the reality we face.

  2. Tory voters will be dead before the true pain of climate change hits. They got theirs and fuck everyone else, even their own children.

  3. I imagine the MPs and their owners have already adjusted for climate change.

Now their portfolios are sorted, climate change isn’t an issue any more.

  4. Water wars in the next century. It sounds cool but there’ll be no smokers on jetskis and no Kevin Costner recycling his piss on a raft.

Boris Johnson could be the man in the mechanical balloon though

  5. The current government is sticking to the notion that Brexit is a huge success so how are they going to accommodate the concept of climate change. Let’s be honest, our government not only has no idea what to do, it can’t even get its head around the concept. Lots of people are going to die. Nothing will be untouched. Sorry

  6. 2003 heatwave killed about 80k excess people across Europe. Now hopefully lessons were learnt and we can be smarter when it comes to hot weather and how to cope in it but wildfires and the like will become the norm.
