Lawyers turn to romcoms in fight for rule of law in Poland

  1. Yeah – these ‘independent judges’ were specialized in putting petty thieves in prison for insane amounts of time, but when it came to murderers, gangsters or rapists they were really forgiving.

  2. Why is this described as a “rule of law” issue? I think the actual issue is WHICH laws, and that they are letting local laws overwrite federal laws. Its still rule of law, just the *other* law.

Also if the European Union plans to twist Poland’s arm, now is the moment, with the Belarussian border situation. If they miss the moment, this will only further mobilize Poland into a nationalist stance, and in support of their local government, like how George Bush Jr suddenly got support after the 911 attacks.

  3. I love how each side has their own judges, journalists and lawyers and are seething at each others of anyone dares to touch them.
