  1. God damn it. Italy manages to get the one guy as a premier that actually manages to do a good job, and those shithead politicians still screw it up. I really can’t blame Draghi for stepping down, I also wouldn’t want to in charge of that shitshow.

  2. I’m sorry for Mario 🙁

He was our best chance, but the fucking incompetent Italian politician class still prevailed. Prepare to see a Russian-themed circus marked “made in Italy” in the following months, people.

  3. Aragorn : It is an army bred for a single purpose: to destroy the world of men. They will be here by nightfall. Theoden : Let them come.
    Theoden : So it begins.

  4. >Italian parties have now entered campaign mode. The center-right, which acted in lock-step during Wednesday’s debate, has the most to win from an earlier vote. Based on current polls, a right-wing tie-up led by Giorgia Meloni’s Brothers of Italy would win a snap election if its members stick together.

Anyone care to decipher what this would mean going forward?

  5. Do you think it’s possible a coalition between brothers of Italy, league, 5 starts and italexit leaded by the first one? It would be extreme right and maybe they would leave Italy. According surveys they would have more than 50% of votes and Fdl would be the most voted party.

  6. With Mario gone, it would be interesting to see if the ECB take a less hawkish stance on interest rate rises. My reasoning behind this is that with him at the wheel, they knew someone who knows how Euro macroeconomics works, but with him being replaced by a person who won’t, that makes it difficult to be hawkish with interest rates due to Italian debt management.
