Religious affiliation in Germany in 2020

  1. It’d be interesting to see how many of those catholics and protestants are actually religious and how many are “I can’t be bothered to change my official religion but I haven’t thought about god for 17 years”.

  2. Educated people (university degree) are atheists.
All others took on religion. So we have to educate the planet even further.

  3. Nice. But technically catholic and protestant are not religions. They are confessions. The religion would be christian.

  4. Hi. 9% tax is not an issue in Germany. Trust me. We pay 28cent per KwH. The thing is, Bavaria is really catholic, the rest is mor evangelical. But mot of the Germans just care about god if the celebrate Christmas or Easter. If you now subtract the countless scandals of the Catholic Church, then simply not many have the interest to belong to the Catholic Church. And it is the shortest and smallest administrative process to leave the church. The church in Germany earns most of its money anyway from owning land.

  5. Why are Protestants and Catholics separated if they belong to the same religion? i don’t see the Muslims separated.

The total Christian would be 51%

  6. When I moved to Germany in 1998 I put on my paperwork that I was catholic because I was christened Catholic. I had no idea that that meant I had to pay “Kirchensteuer”.
Every year I promise myself I’m going to fix this but I always forget. I wonder if I’m one of this statistic.

  7. I was denied to be registered as Muslim at the Burgeramt. Same as most of my Muslim friends, so I’m sure the numbers are 100% faked.
