We adopted a grey that was found wandering the streets after he had been abandoned, greys only have a few years max racing before they start slowing down and when that happens they are often gotten rid of. He was the sweetest dog you could imagine despite the fact he had been beaten by his past owners he became so attached to us all, I wish people would treat them as companions and not as tools.
Yet these greyhounds have absolutely no malice towards us despite how poorly we treat them. People are sick
This whole industry is a disgrace and needs to be banned. The dogs lead a terrible life. Spending most of their lives in crates, lacking proper veterinary care on unlicensed tracks. Once they’ve reached the end of their careers, and have stop earning money they’re often discarded like rubbish. Such sweet and kind dogs, the lucky ones are handed over to rehoming charities to make excellent family pets. Sadly though, many end up getting destroyed and end up in a hole in the ground.
We used to walk our rescue greyhound in London parks and on occasion met up with a RSPCA officer. One of her patrols was the railway tracks near the now closed and demolished Wimbledon Greyhound Stadium in south London. She said they would often find greyhounds tied to the railway tracks with their ears cut off. Racing greyhounds have identification tattoos in their ears. The ears are cut off because the markings can be used to not only trace the racing history of the dog and its family tree, but also its registered owner.
Greyhounds are wonderful gentle dogs. Thousands are killed each year because they don’t make the grade as racers and many that do suffer an appalling fate when their racing career is over. If you are thinking of getting a dog, please consider rescuing a greyhound.

A family friend of mine rescued two ex-racing greyhounds (sequentially, not at the same time). They were soft as anything and would race around the back garden so fast that they would actually run on the fences like scalectrix.
One day, they went on holiday, and put the first of the greyhounds in a kennel to be looked after. This was a kennel for greyhounds, though, so the perfectly healthy dog got sick and was immediately killed. The owners came back later to collect their dog, expecting it to be happy and healthy, only to be told “Oh it got sick so we put it down”.
If you rescue a greyhound, don’t trust anyone who races them, because you’d be fair to assume they don’t give a toss about the dog and would kill it if it were theirs.
punishment should be the same treatment

Should do the same to the suspect(s) if they’re caught.
I love long bois so much. If someone does not want a dog how easy is it to take them to shelter? If people still engage in such brutal dog “disposals” then it is clearly not taken up seriously by the police and courts.
We need to ban gambling that tortures animals. Ban dog and horse racing.
Baby pigs, cows, and sheep are often killed via blunt force trauma if they’re unwanted, or left out to die by starvation, cold, or heat.
Point being, any animal exploitation is wrong and we should be against all of it rather than selectively choosing which ones to be outraged by whilst simultaneously paying for equivalent horrors, or in fact worse, to be committed on our behalf in different industries.
I know a few people with greyhounds and they’re lovely dogs. I’m sure there would have been a lovely owner out there for this dog. Why do people resort to such horrendous things.
Sorry why are people cunts like this, really if you that much of a horrible person take it to a shelter and had it over, no pain or misery involved

English people: Constantly accuse those on Africa and Asia of animal cruelty.
Also English people: Cut ears off from greyhounds and factory farm chicken and pork in disgusting conditions.
