I feel sorry for the employees who are probably having to work twice as hard for no extra reward.
I do not feel sorry for the owner.
I also like to think that people who just think he is an arsehole are contributing to a big chunk of that loss rather than it being purely down to market conditions.
And an ongoing boycott from everyone who realised what an asshole Tim Martin is…
Hahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahahhahahahahhaha
It’s sad that people might/will lose their jobs over the reaping of what Tim Wetherspoon sowed
He cant get people to work for him because he treats his staff like shit.
Good. Hope they go bankrupt.
But didn’t the Wetherspoons news letter say that brexit would lead to sunny uplands?
Glad to see my one person boycott is paying off!
I’m sure he can just get a second job at tescos if it gets hard for him
Oh if it isn’t the consequences of their own actions?
Luckily he said Brexit would mean cheaper prices so he just needs to wait for the Brexit dividends.
Maybe if the boss was not a raging brexit knob I would find some sympathy.

The Tim apologists are strong here
I left my tiny violin on my desk at work or I’d already be playing a terribly sad song.
I feel bad for the workers, but not for that awful owner.
This is insane. He makes a business, sells it to pension funds, makes millions for himself personally, uses it to share propaganda for Brexit to bake himself more money, screwing over the younger generations, and now people will lose their pensions.
And this practice will happen over and over again until full on economic collapse.
This guy didn’t get how lucky he was.
EU students used to come to spend the summer in the UK, working just for self-sustaining but refining the language skills. Now he has problem recruiting. He should give them high skilled salary….
I feel extremely sorry for anyone who is employed by Wetherspoons.
The rest of it including Tim Martin can wade into the sea and drown itself.
Fucking good. I hope he goes out of business and all his 12 o clock sun reading punters have to drink a latte in starbucks surrounded by woke students and international baristas.
And Tim Martin will bitch about it. He stiffed his suppliers during the first lockdown and does nothing but zero hour contracts, i think. He is reaping what he sowed.

The same guy who basically said cheers for working for minimum wage and since I can’t exploit you by paying your wage just fuck off and work for someone else but please remember how much you love being exploited and we may take you back on when the govmt gives me more money to keep me afloat.
Ex spoons Pub manager of 10 years here. The straw that broke the camel’s back for me was putting out a special brexit edition of Spoons’ News out on each table not 5 minutes after I had to console a very, very hard working Polish lady who worked in my kitchen because she was worried about her future in the UK. I was also told I had to discipline a couple of Hungarian kitchen staff because they threw the boxes of that edition in the bin right off the delivery so they didn’t see the light of day. Nar mate, fuck that
Awww how sad, I know me stopping going in has had little difference but it makes me feel better.
I hope they go under
That’s what happens when every one get used to having house parties and not going to pubs
Oh dear.
….. Never mind.

Why do these floppy-haired rich Posh boys always end up looking like middle-aged lesbians as they age
Bet he feels a real silly cunt for pushing all that Brexit propaganda on his customers:

Love those lies about food prices and fishing.

I’m sure the free market principles that these guys love so much will sort out his business
Shame… Anyway!
Oh well that’s a shame
All I can say to the numpty who runs the company is “Brexit means Brexit!”
Neverspoons.
Unintended consequences THAT YOU WERE FUCKING WARNED ABOUT YOU ABSOLUTE PUBIC LICE OF A HUMAN BEING
It’s almost like having an awful reputation is bad for business
Fuck you Tim, much love from a ex employee you red faced dingbat
I guess brexit wasn’t so good for them after all then, weird.
Brexit means brexit. Enjoy your economic collapse.
Recruitment difficulties? When my sister worked there she got hit by customers on most days and paid minimum wage, one woman threw a chair at her and they didn’t even kick her out
The single biggest reason for pub closures in the UK, wetherspoons.
Finally a Brexit benefit I can get on board with.
It’s the will of the people.
I worked in for for over 3 years pandemic and all and I can say I’ve never been so happy after leaving, walking out those door was like a huge weight was lifted and my life has been better since. Fuck Wetherspoons they preach how fair they are but all I was got was spat at, threatened and talk to like shit.
“Recruitment difficulties”
Is that code for struggling to replace all the staff they fired at the start of the pandemic? Like 90% that they just cut.
Not to mention the shady management in literally every Wetherspoons
I’ve been to a Wetherspoons once as it was the only place open I could get some breakfast and I spent 1/2 an hour overhearing a conversation between the ‘angry bald men’ that was basically parroting every Daily Express/Mail headline like good little boys.
Fuck Wetherspoons, the owner’s a cunt and he deserves to fail after his Brexit and Pandemic shenanigans.
